Ascension St. Vincent Field
Ascension St. Vincent Field is the home to Marian's outdoor field sport teams, including football, men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse, and additionally Marian track and field.Â
Ascension St. Vincent Field was completed in 2009 and has served as the home of the Knights since, hosting multiple NAIA FCS Playoff Games, NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Rounds, and Crossroads League Championships in track and soccer.Â
Phase one of the multi-purpose facility was completed in the fall of 2008 in time for soccer season. An eight-lane track, utilized by all teams at Marian, encloses the artificial surface that is used by the football and soccer programs. It housed the 2008 Mid-Central College Conference champion women's soccer team, was the home pitch for the men's soccer team, and served as the practice facility for the Knights football program. The artificial surface, a synthetic turf manufactured and installed by ProGrass, was completed as part of phase one. Phase two was completed on August 1, 2009, and consisted of the installation of spectator stands, press box, concessions, and locker room and team storage facilities. The visiting stands seat 500 comfortably while the home side seats 2,500.
The field is also used by Marian intramural activities, the Marian rugby program, and the Cardinal Ritter football team. In 2024 the Cathedral football team will host a pair of regular season contests at Marian as well.Â
The facility includes an eight-lane track that can be ran competitively in both directions, multiple horizontal jump pits, a full 120 yard soccer and football field, with competition lines for both men's and women's lacrosse.Â
In the summer of 2024, a videoboard powered by Daktronics was installed on the south end of the stadium, featuring a new state-of-the-art display board for fans of all sports at Marian. The board includes a new sound system, and helped equip the field with new play clocks on both ends of the field. A new locker room was also built at Ascension St. Vincent Field in the summer of 2024, which is to house the Marian women's soccer and lacrosse teams.Â
