HUNTINGTON, Ind. - After postponing play midway through Friday's matches, the Knights had to pick up play Saturday afternoon where they got their revenge
from earlier in the season, defeating the second seeded Huntington Foresters 4-1.
On Friday, the Knights got off to a good start point after
Jones McNamar and
James Ashworth took down Augstin Agosto and Valentin Mussi 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. Huntington answered back with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles, as
Shadi Al Tori and
Marc Soriano fell to Agusto Fajardo and Mateo Ameller. At the No. 1 spot,
Borja Delgado and
Andrew Ilett clinched the doubles point, defeating Andres Jimenez and Facundo Hanni Elias 6-4.
Marian continued to show their dominance with Ashworth grabbing the first win 6-4, 6-3 over Ameller at the No. 2 spot. Delgado took down Hanni Elias 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, before the Foresters kept themselves in the match with Pablo Lopez Real defeating Soraino 6-3, 6-2. Ilett won his match 6-4, 6-2 over Mussi to clinch the 4-1 win for the Knights.
Jona Henze and
Luis Sobanski were each tied a set apiece in their respective matches before Marian sealed the win.
Marian will take on Grace in Winona Lake, Ind. on Monday for the Crossroads League Championship.
