INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's soccer developmental team earned a 3-1 victory on Tuesday night, taking down Franklin College. The Knights victory was the first of the year, earning the win over the Grizzlies first team who used the match as a scrimmage prior to the start of their regular season.
The match was scoreless at halftime, but in the second half Marian broke the game's first goal with Laney Harshany scoring from long distance. Franklin would add a goal to their total to level the score, but with over 12 minutes remaining the Knights got the game-winner, as Kylie Conrad ripped home a Knights goal. Olivia Parmer scored the final goal of the match in the waning minutes to end the match with the 3-1 result.
The Knights got strong action in goal from both
Kaitlin Stewart and
Dylan Troglen, with Stewart allowing the lone goal after a fluke ricochet off the crossbar.Â
Marian will next be in action on Sunday afternoon as they host Hanover College at 2 p.m.
