INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's bowling team earned their first tournament victory of the season over the weekend, as the Knights finished off a two-day victory in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout. 

Marian knocked down a total of 9827 pins over the two days of competition, scoring a 6394 in the individual games before ending the weekend with a 3433 total in the baker games. The victory for Marian came by a total of 174 pins over McKendree, who would finish as the runner-up. The Knights earned wins over Crossroads League foes in Grace, Huntington, and Goshen over the weekend.

Individually for Marian, Jacob Neubauer led the Knights with a fourth place finish, striking 1386 pins in the event for an average of 231 per game. Hayden Fowler and Jordan Bauerle joined Neubauer in the top-25 with 24th and 25th place finishes, and Cayleb Carey finished in 28th. Fowler struck 1287 pins, Bauerle recorded a 1281, and Carey had a 1275. 

Kyle Toyias, Caden Lester, and Maxwell Berche combined to bowl six games in the final roster slot, recording an 1165 total. Toyias bowled in three games with a total of 583 to lead the trio.

Marian entered two JV lineups into the field, with the JV1 team finishing third out of 13 teams, while the JV2 lineup finished seventh. Jonathan Cho of the JV2 team finished 13th individually in the field and knocked down a total of 1310 pins. Ryan Carpenter led JV1 with a total of 1264 pins.

The Knights next compete in Georgia on November 1 and 2 at the Bowlero Southern Tournament.
