Detroit, Mich. - The Marian men's bowling team opened its 2025-26 season with a 13th-place finish at the Midwest Collegiate Championship, completing play on Sunday night in the two-day event.
The Knights were the top Crossroads League team in the event, finishing 13th with a two-day total of 8123 pins knocked down. In team game play, the Knights struck 4921 pins, while in baker play, the team had a pinfall total of 3202. Purdue University was the team winner, while Webber International finished second.
Among Crossroads League teams, Huntington finished 29th, Grace finished 46th, Goshen placed 49th, and Mount Vernon Nazarene completed the field in 51st.
Cayleb Carey led the team with a total of 1037 pins knocked down in the individual team games, while
Joseph Buczynski finished with a total of 993 for the second-highest mark on the Knights roster.
Jordan Bauerle scored 854 pins,
Hayden Fowler had 841 pins, and
Jacob Neubauer had 707 pins, with each bowler competing in four games.
Kyle Toyias bowled in two games and scored a 321, and Maxwell Berche bowled once with a 168 score.
Marian competes locally this weekend in the Western Shootout on Saturday and Sunday.
