Notre Dame, Ind. - The Marian men's tennis team fell on Wednesday to Holy Cross College, losing 6-1 against the Saints. The Knights are 10-12 on the season following the loss.
Marian went 0-2 in doubles, losing the first point of the match against Holy Cross. Bogdan Precupsecu and
Tjark Kunkel lost 6-3 at No. 2 doubles, and
Marcos Ramos Cabrera and Jan Batolome lost 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
The Knights recorded just one victory in singles, with
James Ashworth winning at No. 2 singles by a 6-3, 6-4 count against Luca McManus.
Marcos Ramos Cabrera faced a third set in his loss at No. 4 singles, but fell 10-5 in the tiebreaker, losing to Oscar Wai.
Marian fell at one, three, four, five, and six singles in the match, ending in their 6-1 loss.
The final match of the season for Marian is scheduled for this Saturday, as the team travels to Union Commonwealth for a 2:00 p.m. match.
