INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's golf team built a strong lead on day one of the Crossroads League Championships, as the Knights built an 11-stroke lead on the field following 36 holes of play at The Fort Golf Course on the city's east side. Marian has all five of their golfers in the lineup in contention for the league championship after 36 holes, with all five individually sitting in the top nine.

The Knights attacked the course in round one, building a 10-stroke lead on the field as they shot two-under as a team over the first 18 holes. Marian scored a 286 in round one and ended round two with a 292, sitting two-over par after 36 holes as a team. Marian ended day one with a total score of 578, holding a 11-stroke lead over Taylor, with the Trojans scoring a 589 on day one. Indiana Wesleyan holds third after day one, firing a 598. 

Individually, Lane Zedrick leads the Knights with a 142 total score, sitting two-under overall on the day. Zedrick holds sole possession of third place after 36 holes, shooting a 68 in round one and a 74 in round two. Brandon Heffner and Weston Ogden are both tied for seventh after day one, scoring a 147 through two rounds. Heffner scored a 74 in round one and 73 in round two, while Ogden scored a 71 in round one before ending the day with a 76.

Luke Beetz and Nolan Potter both hold a spot in the three-way tie for ninth place, as each Knight shot a 148 for the afternoon. Beetz scored a 78 in round one before ending his day with a 70 in round two, while Potter, who held the lead at time throughout play on Monday, shot a 73 and 75 on day one.

Marian's final round will tee-off at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, with the Knights seeking their third consecutive league championship.
