Two New School Records For Trevino Paces Knights Over Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Knights wrapped up the regular season with a big weekend at the Heartland Invite and Music City Challenge. Over the weekend, the Knights set multiple new PRs as well as two new school records. 

At the Heartland Invitational, Will Osafo led the way in the 60m, not only recording a NAIA A Standard but also recording a new PR and season best in the race. Eric Materna also recorded an NAIA B Standard in the 400m as well as the relay with Materna, Tre Jones, Dexter Parker, and Michael Hunter hitting an NAIA A Standard. In the field, Jake Grangier led the way with a second-place finish in the Pole Vault while Emauri Hines finished second in the long jump. 

At Vanderbilt, Tristan Trevino and Charlie Leedke both ran in the 800m and Mile, both recording NAIA A Standards in both events. In the 800m, Trevino not only set the new Marian record but is now 1st in the NAIA going into the final weeks of the season. He is also now third in the NAIA in the mile, as well as setting another Marian Record in the event.

800m (Vanderbilt): Tristan Trevino (1:50.08, NAIA A Standard), Charlie Leedke (1:51.60, NAIA A Standard)
Mile (Vanderbilt): Trevino (4:04.14, NAIA A Standard), Leedke (4:09.07, NAIA A Standard)
5000m: Alex Lopez (15:51.4)
4x400m: Tre Jones, Materna, Dexter Parker, Hunter (3rd, 3:13.56, NAIA A Standard)
60m Hurdles: Henry Dixon (8.59), Gus Martinez (8.68)
Pole Vault: Jake Grangier (2nd, 4.49m), Brennan LaBelle (6th, 4.29m)
Long Jump: Emauri Hines (2nd, 7.08m), Marko Brajovic (3rd, 6.82m)
Triple Jump: Cameron Parsley (7th, 13.34m)
Weight Throw: Tobi Soneye (15.84m), Sam Runholt (13.95m)

Marian will be back in action next weekend as they travel up to Marion, Ind. to compete in the Crossroads League Championships on Friday and Saturday.
