Men's Bowling Captures Fifth Consecutive Crossroads League Regular Season Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the fifth consecutive year, the Marian men's bowling team captured the Crossroads League Regular Season Championship, as the Knights completed the crown following the team's third victory during Crossroads League play. Marian's regular season crown gives the program an automatic berth in the NAIA National Championship.

Marian finished with a total of 3107 after the three individual games, while they totaled 5738 after baker play. Spring Arbor finished as the runner-up with 5557 total, while Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top three with 5542. The two-hundred pin victory for the Knights in the tournament sealed the program's regular season championship, giving the Knights the top pinfall in the league.

Huntington and Goshen closed out the top five, while Mount Vernon Nazarene, Grace, and Bethel closed out the placements. 


Hayden Fowler was the top varsity bowler for the Knights, placing fifth and totaling 680 overall, including a game-high 247 in game one. Maxwell Berche finished in eighth with a total of 660, hitting a game-high 278 in game two. 

Brayden Kidd bowled in a pair of games totaling a 407. Jordan Bauerle also bowled in a pair of games, recording a total of 399. Cayleb Carey was the final Knight to bowl in a pair of games, finishing with a total of 379. Ryan Carpenter bowled in one game, knocking down a total of 215 pins. Also bowling in one game were Jacob Neubauer (194) and Kyle Toyias (173). 

In JV play, Marian's JV1 team won with 5578 points overall, while JV2 finished in third with 5054. Robert Stephenson was the top bowler for the Knights, bowling a total of 733 and hitting a game high of 266 in game two, finishing as the individual runner-up. Elijah Limming was the top bowler for JV2, bowling a 614 with a top score of 256 in game three. 

Marian will continue their regular season next weekend, hosting the annual Hoosier Classic Invite. Marian's trip to the NAIA Championship will come at the end of March. 

All-Crossroads League awards will be announced in the coming days, as the All-League honors were given out following the competition this afternoon.
