INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's tennis team picked up a Crossroads League win on Friday evening, winning 6-1 against Huntington at the Community Healthplex. The Knights are 8-6 overall on the season, and 5-0 in CL play following the win.

Marian won two of the three doubles matches to take the opening point of the match Friday night, getting a 6-1 victory from Michelle Irigoyen and Jimena Rivera Flores at No. 2 doubles for the first of two wins. Liliane Alinquant and Ana Barbosa Fernandez followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles, giving Marian a 1-0 lead. Yasmin Imamniyazova and Ana Lopez Torres went unfinished in their match at No. 1 against Isabella Herrera and Yariange Bello, trailing 5-4 when Marian clinched the point.

The Knights then blitzed through singles, winning five of six matches, including the first five, to clinch the match and score the fifth win of the Crossroads League season. Michelle Irigoyen clinched the first singles win with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Tiziana Rizzato at No. 3 singles, while at No. 2 singles, Ana Lopez Torres won 6-4, 6-2 against Yariange Bello. Paloma Caceres Villalba clinched Marian's win with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles against Coby Sander.

Marian's next win came from Yasmin Imamniyazova at No. 1 singles, as she recorded a 6-2, 6-2 win against Isabella Herrera. Liliane Alinquant scored Marian's final win of the night, defeating Addison Mast 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles to score the sixth point of the match. Jimena Rivera Flores was unsuccessful in her matchup at No. 5 singles, losing 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6) against Ashley Bucur.

Marian has five matches remaining in its regular season, hosting Bethel University on Wednesday, April 1, at Avon High School. The match is set for 2:00 p.m.
