Wesley Chapel, Fla. - For the fourth consecutive year, the Marian women's golf team began their spring season with a victory at Saddlebrook Resort, winning the Walsh Spring Kickoff to record the team's third win of the 2025-26 season.
Keara Eder made a late push in the tournament to take the individual win, as the Knights had three golfers in the top-five.
Marian got off to a strong start in its title defense at Saddlebrook Resort, carding a +23 team score in round one on Tuesday, taking an 11-stroke lead on the field.
Emma Weiler shot a 76 in round one to hold second place outright, while
Jordan Adam and
Keara Eder each shot a 77, tying for third.
Maria Kennard cracked the top-10 in round one, sitting in seventh place with a score of 81.
Hailey Kirkland finished the first round in 14th with her 83 score, and
Addyson Weiler shot a 95, holding 28th on the leaderboard.
The Knights continued to hold their lead in the tournament after the conclusion of round two, despite carding high scores in the second round of the tournament. Marian scored a 327 in the second round, but managed to hold its lead over Davenport by seven strokes going into the final day.
Emma Weiler jumped into first place during the second round, taking a three-shot lead into the final round after shooting a 79.
Jordan Adam climbed into second after firing an 83, and
Keara Eder settled into fourth place after 36 holes, shooting an 82 on Wednesday.
Maria Kennard gained one spot on the leaderboard as her 85 moved her into 13th, while
Hailey Kirkland slid back to 16th following her 85.
Addyson Weiler had the best improvement of scores in Wednesday's second round, shooting an 87 to gain two spots overall.
In the final round,
Keara Eder led a Marian charge, shooting two-over to move from fourth to first, taking the win after firing a 74 in the third round on Thursday. Eder finished with a three-day total of 233.
Emma Weiler would finish second, ending the tournament with a 79 to total 234 over the three rounds.
Jordan Adam completed the event in fourth place to earn all-tournament team honors, as the sophomore shot an 81 Thursday, completing the week with a 239 score.
Maria Kennard made a charge on the final day with her 78 score, ending in a tie for seventh place with her 244 total, and
Hailey Kirkland finished tied for 12th, shooting a 78 on the final day to end with a 247 scorecard.
Addyson Weiler finished her week with a personal-best score of 81 over the three days, ending in 23rd with her 263 total.
The Knights ended the week with a 309 score in the third round, totaling 947 strokes over the 54 holes. The Knights defeated Davenport by 19 strokes for the win, while Saginaw Valley State and Walsh finished third and fourth. The Knights landed one NAIA win in the tournament, defeating Bethel, who finished fifth overall.
Marian will return to action on March 27 and 28, competing at the annual Heritage Hill Collegiate, hosted by Lawrence Tech University.
