Fort Wayne, Ind. —- The eighth-ranked Marian Men's Cross Country team opened the season at the Mastodon Alumni Open hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, taking the team title over the Division I Mastodons.
 
Benjamin Riehle was the top collegiate finisher in the meet, placing second overall with a time of 15:27.9. Tristan Trevino was right behind him, placing third with a mark of 15:28.5. Eli Balbach and Charles Leedke also nabbed top-10 finishes, placing sixth and ninth, respectively.
