BIO

  • A 2013 graduate of Marian University, Kubancsek serves at the Director of Operations for the Marian University Cycling program, managing nearly all aspects of the day-to-day business of the team and keeping track of all the program's moving parts.
  • While in school, Kubancsek raced for the team on the road and trail while earning a summa cum laude B.A. degree in Communication and Philosophy.
  • Kubancsek’s skills in logistics management, marketing/sports information, equipment management, sponsorship liaison, and facilities and administrative operations have contributed to the team’s seven-straight D1 Team Omnium Championships as well as the program's continued success in student rentention, graduation, and community engagement. He has traveled with the team to nearly all conference- and national-level races in support of the team’s championship efforts. 
  • As a USA Cycling-certified Race Mechanic, Kubancsek manages the team’s equipment fleet of bikes, wheels and components in five disciplines, assists the athletes in managing their personal equipment, and provides mechanical support during race events. He also pioneered the effort to launch collegiate cycling's first-ever student mechanic program.
  • As a unique sport in collegiate athletics, cycling requires unique and education-based sports information, which Kubancsek oversees in conjunction with MU's SID and the rest of the coaching staff.
  • Kubancsek's role also includes facilities and operations management for the Indy Cycloplex, an Indianapolis city park with events and programming in all cycling disciplines. He is involved in nearly aspect of Park management including day-to-day operations, facility upkeep and improvement, marketing, and administrative tasks.
