Coach Jordan is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs at Marian University.
Jordan joins MU from Hamilton Southeastern High School where he served as an assistant coach on the boys Track & Field team and Franklin Central High School where he served as a volunteer coach on the boys Cross Country team the past two years (2019-2020). Prior to that Jordan served three years as the head coach for the boys and girls Track & Field and Cross Country programs at Greencastle High School (2016-2019).
Jordan is a USATF Level II certified coach. Jordan also served as a support coach for his brother, Michael Jordan, at the 2016 US Olympic Track & Field Trials, and USATF Outdoor Championships in 2017 and 2019.
While at GHS Jordan served as a middle school athletic director and physical education teacher from 2015-2019. Under Jordan’s leadership teams won three Western Indiana Conference Championships. Jordan was awarded WIC Coach of The Year Honors each respective season (2016, 2017, 2018). He guided 7 individuals to the IHSAA Semi-State in Cross Country and 19 individuals to the IHSAA Regional in Track & Field. During that time Emma Wilson claimed 5 IHSAA State titles (1600m 2017, 3200m 2017-18, XC 2017-18), Nike Cross Nationals All-America Honors (2017), 3 USATF U20 top-4 finishes (steeple, 3k, 5k), IHSAA Mental Attitude Award (2018), Indiana Girls Gatorade Cross Country Runner of the Year (2017, 2018), set the Indiana Indoor Girls 3200m state record (10:19.44) and top 3 All-Time for 5k (16:37.88). Four student-athletes earned Academic All-State Honors during those three years. In 2018 Jordan was honored to present a medal at the graduation ceremony to valedictorian student-athlete Ben Gellman.
Jordan began coaching in 2015 as a volunteer coach for the boys Track & Field program at Franklin Central High School under Coach Brian Dunn.
Jordan’s collegiate running experience began at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN where he earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science in 2013. Over the course of four years with the Bulldogs Jordan claimed three conference championships and made two trips to the NCAA Division I East Regional. He holds personal bests of 1:50.59 (800m), 4:06.59 (mile) and 8:58.84 (3k Steeplechase). He was a member of the Bookin’ with the Bulldogs Reading Club and the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honors Fraternity. After completing undergrad Jordan gained acceptance into the MAT Program at the University of Indianapolis where he finished his final season of athletic eligibility and earned Great Lakes All-Region Honors in cross country with the greyhounds. In addition to that he was an USTFCCCA All-Academic Honoree that season and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2015.
Jordan resides in Indianapolis with his wife, Jasmine, and their sons CJ and Miles.
