BIO

2025-26:
  • In her second year as the Head Coach of the Knights, she led the women's team to earn the USTFCCCA Fred Beile Women's Program of the Year honor for the first time in school history. As well as the men's team earning the USTFCCCA Jack Hazen Men's Program of the Year runner-up honor for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
  • Wrapping up the outdoor season, Wise-Butler led the men's team to a fourth-place finish and the women's team to a sixth-place finish nationally at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. Overseeing the sprints group, Wise-Butler coached four All-Americans (men's & women's 200m, men's & women's 4x100m relay).
  • During the outdoor Crossroads League season, she earned both the men's and women's coach of the year honors and led the Knights to another outdoor Crossroads League Championship Sweep. Alongside leading the program as a whole, Wise-Butler oversaw the sprints group, leading them to five Crossroads League Championships (women's & men's 100m, women's & men's 200m, women's 4x100m relay) and three All-Crossroads League Honors with their top-three finishes (men's 100m, women's & men's 200m). 
  • Wrapping up the indoor season, Katie Wise-Butler was named both the USTFCCCA National and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year for the indoor season for both the men's and women's honors.
  • In her second NAIA Indoor National Championship as the head coach, Wise-Butler was named both the women's & men's coach of the year, as well as leading the women's team to their first NAIA National Championship and the men's second consecutive indoor national title. She continued to oversee the sprints group and coached one All-American in the 60m. 
  • During her second indoor Crossroads League season, Wise-Butler was named the Crossroads League men's and women's coach of the year, leading both teams to another Crossroads League Championship sweep. She oversaw the sprints group and coached three Crossroads League Individual Champions (men's 60m, men's & women's 200m) as well as two All-Crossroads League top-three finishes (men's & women's 60m).
  • In her second year, overseeing the management of the Cross Country program, both the men's and women's programs competed in the national spotlight for the second year in a row, and earned top-25 national rankings for the year.
2024-25:
  • In her first outdoor NAIA National Championship, she led the men's team to a fourth-place finish overall. She was also named the USTFCCCA Regional Coach of the Year for the Great Lakes Region.
  • In her first outdoor Crossroads League season, she was named the Crossroads League Outdoor Coach of the Year for both the men's and women's teams and led the team to their 10th consecutive championship for the men and fifth for the women. Katie oversaw the sprints group and coached four Crossroads League Champions (women's 200m, 4x100m relay), as well as four All-Crossroads League events honored. 
  • Wrapping up the indoor season, Wise was named the USTFCCCA National Coach of the year on the men's side as well as the Men's and Women's Regional Coach of the year for the Great Lakes Region.
  • In her first indoor NAIA National Championships, Wise was named the NAIA National Indoor Coach of the Year for the men's team and led the team to the first NAIA National Championship in program history. Wise oversaw the sprints group and coached one All-American in the men's 60m. 
  • In her first indoor Crossroads League season, Wise was named the Crossroads League Indoor Coach of the Year for both men and women and led the team to the sixth consecutive championship for men and the fourth consecutive for women. Wise oversaw the sprints group and coached three Crossroads League Champions (men's 60m, men's & women's 200m) as well as a full top-three sweep in the men's 60m and top two in the women's 200m.
  • In her first season supervising the management of the Cross Country team, both men and women made it to the NAIA National Championship for the first time as a team in school history. They claimed two All-American Honors on the men's side and one All-American Honor on the women's side.
  • Was named the Director of Track & Cross Country on June 18th, 2024.
Prior to 2024-25 Season:
  • Before being named the Director of Track & Cross Country she was the sprints coach and she had coached 19 Crossroads League champions (4x women’s 60m, 2x women's 100m, 2x women's indoor 200m, women's outdoor 200m, 2x women’s 4x100, 4x men’s 60m, men’s 100m, men’s outdoor 200m and 2x men’s 4x100), 32 National Qualifiers (4x women’s 60m, women's 100m, 4x women’s indoor 200m, women's outdoor 200m, 3x women’s 4x100, 7x men's 60m, men's 100m, 5x men's indoor 200m, 2x men’s outdoor 200m, and 4x men’s 4x100).
Prior to Marian:
  • Wise is from Morgantown, Indiana, and went to high school at Indian Creek High School. She was a state champion in the 100 in 2011 (11.91) and finished 3rd in the 200 at the state meet. (24.50) Katie graduated from Indiana State University in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.
  • During her time at Indiana State, Wise was a Division 1 All-American. While at ISU, she ran 7.25 in the 60, 11.15 in the 100, and 23.06 in the 200. In 2014, she placed 5th in the NCAA Indoor Nationals meet in the 60-meter dash to become a first-team All-American. She was a four-time All-American, six-time National Qualifier (60, 100, 200, 4x1), 11-time MVC Conference Champion (60, 100, 200, and 4x1), and a 3-time USA Championships Qualifier (100, 200).
  • In 2014, Wise competed for Team USA in Kamloops, British Columbia (NACAC), where she won a gold medal in the 4x100 (43.89) and a silver medal in the 100. After college, Wise trained in Clermont, Florida, with a professional track club before starting at Marian in Fall 2017.
  • Katie is a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coach and will be pursuing her Level 2 Certification this year.
