Macey Nixon serves as the Assistant Coach for Marian University Game Day Cheer, bringing firsthand experience with the Knights and a strong understanding of Marian’s game-day traditions and culture to the coaching staff.
Nixon joined the Marian Cheer coaching staff following graduation in 2024. As Assistant Game Day Cheer Coach, she works closely with the Head Coach in preparing athletes for football and basketball games, campus appearances, and other university events. She assists with practices, skill development, sideline material, game-day preparation, and mentoring student-athletes as they represent Marian University both on and off the sidelines.
A 2024 graduate of Marian University, Nixon was a member of the Knights’ Game Day Cheer team throughout her collegiate career. During her time at Marian, she was also actively involved across campus as a Presidential Ambassador, 21st Century Scholar, and student reporter for The Phoenix. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Communications and a specialization in Professional Selling.
Her transition from Marian student-athlete to coach gives Nixon a unique understanding of the Game Day program and the role cheerleaders play in creating an exciting atmosphere while representing the university. Her familiarity with Marian traditions and commitment to the student-athlete experience allow her to continue giving back to a program and university that played an important role in her own collegiate experience.
In addition to coaching at Marian, Nixon serves as Director of Marketing and Sales for The Corydon Group, where she leads marketing, communications, outreach, and event initiatives for association clients. Her professional background in communication, organization, and relationship-building complements her role as a coach and mentor within the Marian Cheer program.
