BIO

2025-26 Season:

• Closing out his fifth year at Marian, he helped lead eight events to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor National Championship (2x men's 400m, women's 400m, women's 100m hurdles, 3x women's 400m hurdles, women's 4x400m relay). Three out of the eight events earned All-American Honors (men's 400m, men's 4x400m relay, women's 4x400m relay). He helped lead the Knights as a whole to a sixth-place finish on the women's side and a fourth-place finish on the men's. 
• During the NAIA Indoor National Championships, he led one event to an individual National Championship (men's 4x400m relay). He coached nine events to qualify for nationals (women's 400m, 2x men's 600m, 3x women's 600m, women's 60m hurdles, men's 4x400m relay, women's 4x400m relay). Five out of the nine earned All-American Honors (women's 400m, men's 600m, women's 600m, men's 4x400m relay, women's 4x400m relay). He also helped lead the women's team to their first NAIA Indoor National Championship and the men's team to their second consecutive championship. 
• For both the Crossroads League Indoor and Outdoor Championships, Vinson led 19 events to earn All-Crossroads League Honors (men's indoor 400m, 2x women's indoor 400m, 2x men's outdoor 400m, women's outdoor 400m, 2x men's 600m, 2x women's 600m, men's 60m hurdles, 2x women's 60m hurdles, women's 110m hurdles, women's 400m hurdles, men's indoor 4x400m relay, women's indoor 4x400m relay, men's outdoor 4x400m relay, women's outdoor 4x400m relay). Nine of the 19 earned an individual Crossroads League Championship (women's indoor 400m, women's outdoor 400m, men's 600m, women's 600m, women's indoor 60m hurdles, women's 400m hurdles, men's indoor 4x400m relay, men's outdoor 4x400m relay, women's indoor 4x400m relay).

2024-25 Season:

• In Vinson's fourth year with the Knights, he was named the USTFCCCA National Men's Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 indoor season after helping lead the men to the program's first NAIA National Championship.
• During the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, Vinson led 13 mid-distance events to qualify (2x men's 400m, men's 400m hurdles, 3x men's 800m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, 2x women's 400m, women's 800m, women's 4x400m, women's 4x800m). Five earned All-American Honors (men's 400m, men's 800m, men's 4x800m, women's 800m, women's 4x800m).
• At the NAIA Indoor National Championships, he had 13 events qualify (3x men's 600m, 2x men's 800m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, men's DMR, women's 600m, women's 800m, women's 4x400m, women's 4x800m, women's DMR). 10 earned All-American Honors (3x men's 600m, men's 800m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, men's DMR, women's 800m, women's 4x400m, women's 4x800m). While two events earned an Individual NAIA National Championship (men's 4x400m, men's DMR).
• At the Crossroads League Championships the mid-distance group earned All-American Honors in 27 events (2x men's 400m indoor, 2x men's 400m outdoor, men's 400m hurdles, 3x men's 600m, 2x men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m indoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, women's 400m indoor, 2x women's 400m outdoor, women's 600m indoor, women's 800m indoor, women's 800m outdoor, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor, women's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor, women's DMR). While 14 of those events were the Crossroads League Individual Champion (men's 400m indoor, men's 400m outdoor, men's 600m, men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, women's 400m outdoor, women's 800m indoor, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor, women's DMR).

2023-24 Season:

• In his third season as the mid-distance coach he led 25 events to All-Crossroads League Honors (2x men's 400m indoor, 2x men's 400m outdoor, 3x men's 600m, men's 400m hurdles, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, 2x women's 400m indoor, 2x women's 400m outdoor, 3x women's 600m, women's 800m indoor, women's 800m outdoor, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor, women's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor). With 12 earning an Individual Crossroads League Championship (men's 400m indoor, men's 400m outdoor, men's 600m, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, women's 400m outdoor, women's 600m, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor).
• At the Indoor NAIA National Championships, he led 12 mid-distance events to qualify for Nationals (men's 400m, 4x men's 600m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, men's DMR, 3x women's 600m, women's 4x800m). While six of the 12 events earned All-American Honors (men's 600m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, men's DMR, women's 600m, women's 4x800m).
• At the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, he led nine mid-distance events to qualify for Nationals (2x men's 400m, men's 800m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, women's 800m, women's 4x400m, women's 4x800m). While five of nine earned All-American Honors (men's 800m, men's 4x400m, men's 4x800m, women's 800m, women's 4x800m).

2022-23 Season:

• In Vinson's second year as the mid-distance coach he led 10 events to qualify for both indoor and outdoor Nationals (men's 400m indoor, men's 600m, men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m indoor, women's 600m, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor, women's 4x800m indoor). While six earned All-American Honors (men's 600m, men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m indoor, men's 4x800m outdoor).
• At the Crossroads League Indoor and Outdoor Championships he led 14 events to earn All-Crossroads League Honors (men's 400m indoor, men's 600m, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, 2x women's 400m indoor, 2x women's 400m outdoor, women's 600m, women's 800m indoor, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor). 2021-22 Season:

• As a first year mid-distance coach he led 11 events to qualify for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships (men's 600m, 2x men's 800m outdoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x800m indoor, men's 4x800m outdoor, men's DMR, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor, women's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor). Three of 11 earned All-American Honors (men's 800m indoor, men's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m indoor).
• In the Indoor and Outdoor Crossroads League Championships 14 mid-distance events earned All-Crossroads League Honors (men's 400m indoor, men's 400m outdoor, men's 600m, men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, men's 4x400m outdoor, men's 4x800m indoor, women's 400m indoor, women's 400m outdoor, women's 400m hurdles, women's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor, women's 4x800m indoor, women's 4x800m outdoor). While four events earned an Individual Crossroads League Championship (men's 400m outdoor, men's 800m indoor, men's 4x400m indoor, women's 4x400m outdoor).

Prior to Marian Coaching:

• After graduating from Marian he joined the Track and Field staff as the mid-distance coach in 2021.
• Vinson graduated from Marian University and was an athlete for the Track and Field program.
