DAYTON, Ohio – The Marian men's bowling team competed in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional Qualifier over the weekend, finishing sixth after a 64-baker game weekend. William Paterson was the winner of the tournament, followed by Purdue and Trine.

Individually on Friday, Marian's top bowler in the six games was Nickolas Archacki, who finished 45th overall with a total of 1134 pins. In six games, Archacki bowled over 200 in two games. Kyle Toyias placed 66th with a total of 1102 pins, while Dylan Mollo finished with a total of 1078 for 88th overall. Joseph Buczynski and Alex Wiles rounded out the Knights' lineup, bowling 1076 and 1037, respectively.

20 teams competed in the team qualifier, and in the first block of 16 games Marian sat in first place overall with a 3454 score. In the second block, Marian dropped down to eighth after bowling a 3107 to bring their total to 6561. The Knights moved back up a spot with a 3254 in the block, before in the final 16 games Marian bowled 3422 to move up to sixth overall. Marian finished with a total of 13237, placing behind SCAD-Savannah and Pikeville.

Marian's sixth place finish leaves them on the outside of the top four, missing the USBC Championships.
