Box Score HARRODSBURG, Ky. - The Marian men's soccer team won their fourth straight on Saturday afternoon, as they scored early and often to defeat Campbellsville - Harrodsburg with another clean sheet victory, 6-0. The Knights finish the non-conference slate of their schedule undefeated and move to 5-0-2 overall.
The Knights dominated possession from the opening minutes, scoring three goals in the first half. Marian wasted no time to put a goal on the scoreboard, as
Alan Tenorio connected with
Keiji Nakamae, who finished the play by knocking it in the back netting in the first 12 minutes of play. With the early 1-0 lead, the Knights continued to put pressure on the Campbellsville defense around the 20th minute when
Josh Wesseling booted one past the keeper on the assist from
Donovan Doolittle. The first half scoring was not over for the Knights quite yet, as
Gerald Ramirez got in on the action with his goal coming in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
After the break, Marian did not back down and continued their offensive efficiency in the second 45 minutes of action. The scoring came early for the Knights in the second half with three goals coming in the first eight minutes of the half. Tenorio put one in the goal first, before
Kent Bailey executed on a penalty kick to give Marian the 6-0 lead. The Pioneers had no response for the Knights, as the visitors piled on one more goal from foot of
Jayden Francis with the
Evan Dawdy assist.
Marian will be back in action when they start Crossroads League play at Indiana Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. kickoff September 23.
