INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's basketball team continued their winning streak into 2024 Wednesday night, taking down Goshen College with a comforting 101-64 victory. Marian's win improves them to 2-2 in Crossroads League play, as they jump to 12-2 overall on the season.

The Knights wasted little time getting the scoring started in their 12th victory of the season, going inside to Nolan Foster on the opening possession to ignite an 8-0 in the opening two minutes of play. The run forced a quick timeout from Goshen, while another Maple Leaf stoppage was called within 90 seconds after a pair of open three's from Gus Etchison and Josh Bryan made it a 14-2 game. The offense continued to scorch the nets, as a three from Ben Henderson kept the flow going.

Gavin Foe collected Marian's 25th point of the game after making a jumper out of a timeout, starting another scoring surge as the Knights ran their lead to 21 points moments before the under-five timeout. Dylan Moles and Etchison were catalysts to help drive the Marian lead to 27 points by halftime, chipping in a combined eight points over the final 3:39 of the first half. The Knights went into halftime shooting 61.8 percent from the floor, limiting Goshen to a 31 percent mark en route to them leading 54-27 at the halftime intermission.

Marian's large lead at the half allowed them to coast through most of the second half, as they held their lead over 21 points for the duration of the final period. The Knights out-scored the Maple Leafs 47-37 in the second half, shooting an even 50 percent from the field in the final period of the game. All nine of Marian's players that saw minutes in the second half scored two or more points, with Etchison dropping 12 points in the period.

Ben Henderson gave Marian their first lead of 30 points in the win with a layup at the 4:55 mark, while the freshman ended the scoring in his big night by dropping the 100th point for his team. Marian's largest lead in the game came on their final point, with Nolan Foster splitting a pair of free throws in the final 35 seconds to cap the home scoring in the 101-64 win.

Etchison ended the night with a 23-point outing, adding three assists and a pair of steals. Nolan Foster recorded his second double-double on the year with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Josh Bryan led the bench with 16 points. Henderson scored a season-best 14 points, and Gavin Foe scored 12 points to go with seven rebounds. Maxiumus Gizzi dished out a season-high eight assists to go with seven points.

Marian hits the road this Saturday, traveling to Huntington for a 3 p.m. tip for their 15th game of the season.
