INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's basketball team started 2024 with a dominant win, moving to 4-0 in Crossroads League play with a 92-54 win over Goshen College. Marian scored 20 or more points in three quarters in the win, as they improve to 13-1 overall on the season.
The Knights yielded the first two points of the game Wednesday as they returned to Crossroads League play, but quickly got their offense in gear behind a jumper from
Abbey McNally.
Ella Collier followed the score with a three-point play to give Marian their first lead of the night, sparking a push that increased the lead to six. The Maple Leafs would scratch within a point of Marian twice in the quarter, but a late push from McNally and Collier, along with
Tamia Perryman and
Kinnidy Garrard gave the Knights a 21-13 lead after 10 minutes.
McNally carried her hot hand into the second quater, scoring five points early in the quarter to jump the lead into double-digits. A three-point play converted by
Allison Bosse gave the Knights a commanding 16-point advantage midway through the quarter, but the lead would soon start to dwindle as Marian went cold from the field. Goshen helped hold Marian scoreless after an
Aliyah Evans jumper made it a 35-19 game, and during the home drought their opposition cut the lead in half. Collier ended the drought with 64 seconds to play before halftime, and a late score from Perryman sealed the 10-point advantage as Marian took a 39-29 lead into the break.
After halftime Marian took control and left their mark on the game, scoring 29 points in the third quarter alone.
Allison Bosse paced the high-scoring quarter, pouring in eight points in the first 3:30 of the second half. The offense continued to flow through Bosse, who soon started connecting with
Ella Collier as the senior tandem drove Marian's lead over 20 points. Bosse and Collier combined for 26 of the 29 third quarter points for Marian, helping the Knights own a 68-44 lead going into the fourth quarter.
In the final quarter the Knights utilized their bench effectively, with nine different players scoring in the last stanza of the game.
Abbey McNally led Marian's fourth quarter scoring and helped her team take a 30-point lead in the game, locking the win just over one minute into the fourth quarter.

Marian ended the game shooting a blistering 56 percent from the field, while knocking down 16 of their 17 free throws. Bosse scored a game-high 24 points, missing a career-best game by four digits. Collier finished the night with 20 points and five steals, and McNally scored 17 while grabbing a team-best five rebounds. Perryman scored 11 points off the bench, and in total 10 players scored at least two points.
Marian goes back on the road Saturday after their first home game of the second half of the season, traveling to Huntington for a 1 p.m. tip.
