Spring Arbor, Mich. - The Marian women's soccer team claimed a 3-1 win on the road in an early finish due to lightning. The Knights are now 10-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the Crossroads League.
The first half got off to a slow start with the Knights claiming two shots with
Lizzie Chlystun's being on target. Spring Arbor claimed a lot of the possession with five shots two being on target. The Knights claimed possession of the ball with
Katie Koger hitting the back of the net to claim the 1-0 lead at the 28 minute mark. Ten short minutes later
Marian Corro Celma was able to hit the back of the net to increase the lead 2-0 going into the half.Â
Olivia Parmer opened up the second half with a shot on goal to be saved by the Cougar's goalie.
Sammie King took her chance at a goal but was unsuccessful to the home team's goal keeper. Spring Arbor decreased the Knights lead with a goal at the 56' mark.
Layla Brown was able to get her shot in the net four minutes later. The Cougars took three more shots while the Knights took one before the game was called at the 72:51 mark to secure the 3-1 win for Marian.
Corro Celma, King, and Chlystun all went 1-1 on the evening while; Brown and Koger went 2-1 and Parmer went 2-2 on the evening. In goal
Mycheala Johnson had three saves on the evening.
The Knights will be back in action at home against Bethel University on Wednesday October 16th starting at 7:00 p.m.
