INDIANAPOLIS/Rochester Hills, Mich. - The Marian wrestling team completed their final events of the 2024 regular season on Sunday, as the Knights competed in the Greyhound Open hosted by UIndy and their final dual of the WHAC regular season. Marian would lose their final dual match of the season as they fell 26-15 at Rochester University.

The Knights opened their dual on the wrong end, as the Knights forfeited at 125 and
Braden Haines was defeated 3-0 at 133, falling behind 9-0. The Knights would respond with back to back wins at 141 and 149, with
Logan Wagner scoring a win by fall in 84 seconds at 141 over Jager Kwiatkowski to score six points for Marian, while
Aundre Beatty finished a 6-5 win by decision at 149 against Nathan Young.
The match was level 9-9 following the 149 match, and Marian would hold a lead of 15-12 after the 165 match as they split the next two weights.
Zach Wilson fell 6-1 to Rico Brown at 157, but at 165
Elliott Rodgers pushed Marian in the lead with his win by fall in 4:48.Â
Marian's winning ways would end after that, as the Warriors won each of the final four weight classes.
Noah Hollendonner and
Liam Begley both lost by decision at 174 and 184, and
Justice Cash fell by tech fall at 197.
Andrew Just would suffer the final defeat of the afternoon, as he lost by a 10-0 major decision score at 285.
Marian's defeat ends their regular season with a 6-8 overall dual record, going 3-3 in WHAC duals.Â
At the Greyhound Open, Marian would muster just one win among their seven wrestlers entered in the field, with
James Lacey scoring a win in the consolation round at 174.

Drew Willis,
Isaac Richardson, and
Dylan McKelvey each went 0-2.
Marian will host the WHAC Championships on Saturday, February 9. The first round of the championship tournament will begin at 9 a.m. in the PE Center.
