Southfield, Mich. - The Marian women's lacrosse team suffered a tough loss on the road falling 15-10 to Lawrence Tech. The Knights are now 8-5 overall and 6-2 in conference following the ranked loss. 

The Knights got off to a slow start in the first quarter with Huebner and Robinson of Lawrence Tech claiming the first two goals claiming an early 2-0 lead for the Blue Devils. Katelynn Gray and Ella Grace Giedd fought back with two consecutive goals bringing the game to a 2-2 tie at the 5:21 mark. The Blue Devils continued to increase their lead with three more goals to end off the quarter with a 5-2 score.

Lawrence Tech continued to increase their lead into the second quarter with four unanswered goals to increase their lead to seven goals. In the final minutes before half the Knights picked at the Blue Devils lead with a goal scored by Tori Farkas to bring the score 9-3 in favor of Lawrence Tech at the end of the quarter.

At the start of the third quarter Lawrence Tech and Marian trading a pair of goals for each team. Vander Zwaag for the Blue Devils scored the first goal, to be quickly followed up by Ruby Mason's goal to bring the score 10-4. Vander Zwaag and Giedd traded the second pair of goals to bring the score to 11-5. Lawrence Tech ended off the quarter with three unanswered goals to increase their lead to nine.

The Knights put up two unanswered goals to start off the quarter by Katie Murphy and Giedd to decrease Lawrence Tech's lead 14-7. The Blue Devils and the Knights traded goals once again with Robinson from Lawrence Tech scoring a goal to be quickly followed up my Gray of the Knights. In attempts to decrease the Blue Devils lead the Knights scored three unanswered goals by, Gray with two and Murphy with one to end out the game with a final score of 15-10 in favor of Lawrence Tech. 

Offensively K. Gray and Giedd led the team in goals with three each, while K. Gray, Giedd, Ashlynn Gray, Taleah Nool, and Delaney Koles led the team in assists with one each. Defensively Murphy led the team in draw controls and recovered ground balls with, four draw controls and seven ground ball recoveries. K. Gray led the team in caused turnovers with four. In goal, Katherine Hirsch took the loss with 12 saves on the day.

The Knight's will be back in action this Tuesday at home against Siena Heights in WHAC conference tournament play.
