INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian women's lacrosse bounced back with a 22-0 win over the Rochester Warriors. The Knights are now 7-4 overall and 5-1 in conference.

Marian took the reigns early in the game with five unanswered goals in the first quarter. Ashlynn Gray tallied two while Katelynn Gray, Katie Murphy, and Rylie Boezeman all tallied one each to end off the quarter 5-0 in favor of the Knights.

The home team had no signs of stopping scoring seven more unanswered goals in the second quarter to increase the lead 13-0 over the Warriors. Ruby Mason, K. Gray, Murphy, Lizzie Piercy, Alex Dean, Madeline Dumke, Boezeman, and Jada Taylor all claimed one goal each for the second quarter.

After the half Anna Moore took the reigns and scored her first goal of the day off of a free position shot to increase the lead 14-0. The Knights scored four more goals to end off the quarter by, Dean, Dumke, Murphey, and J. Taylor to bring the score 18-0 going into the final quarter of play. 

To open up the final quarter Ella Grace Giedd got her first goal of the evening at the 13:59 mark to bring the score 19-0. The Knights claimed the shutout win with three more goals scored by, A. Gray, Dean, and Claudine Umumporeze to bring the final score 22-0.

Offensively Alex Dean, Katie Murphy, and Ashlynn Gray led the team in goals with three, while Rylie Boezeman, Jada Taylor, Madeline Dumke, and Katelynn Gray tallied two each. Ruby Mason, Ella Grace Giedd, Anna Moore, Lizzie Piercy, and Claudine Umumporeze each tallied one. Giedd and A. Gray lead the team in assists with three each.

Defensively the Knights dominated with 21 draw controls, Murphy led the team in with seven with A. Gray close behind with six. L. Taylor lead the team in caused turnovers tallying three of the 16 total for the team.

Katherine Hirsch took the win having two saves in her two quarters played. Grace Coyne played the final two quarters and had no saves or shots.

The Knights are back in action on Wednesday, April 10th  for senior day at home against Bethel (Ind.) with the first draw set at 5:00 p.m.
