Marion, Ind. - The Marian men's track and field team started off the NAIA Outdoor National Championships on Wednesday at Indiana Wesleyan, claiming the first place spot after day one with 14 points. Marian claimed two top three finishes and All-American honors and advanced the 4x800M relay onto finals.

The Knights first event of the day featured Christian Rios and Isaiah Tipping in the hammer. Tipping finished third in the hammer with a mark of 62.80m to claim his second All-American Honor of his career in the hammer. Rios claimed second place in the hammer with a mark of 63.49m to claim his second All-American honor in the hammer as well.

The second event of the day that featured the Knights on the men's side was the 4x100m relay that featured Armani Glass, Jeremiah Brown, Manny Manneh, and Oliver Lifrange. The team finished with a time of 41.38 that allowed them to take 23rd place overall.

Marian advanced two more events into finals tomorrow for the 4x800M and Friday for the 3000M Steeplechase. Tristan Trevino, Owen Pittman, Ben Moster, and Matthew Riehle finished with a time of 7:37.12 to claim the seventh seed in tomorrow's finals race. Robin Aguilar-Gonzalez finished with a time of 9:08.31 in the 3000M Steeplechase to claim the third seed in Friday's final's race.

Marian's first events on Thursday will start at, 2:50 p.m., with Marian competing for a finals spot in the 800M to start off the day.
