Huntsville, Ala. - The No. 10 ranked women's cross country team finished in the top-10 at the University of Alabama Huntsville Chargers Cross Country Invitational. The Knights placed eighth overall with
Emersyn Weaver leading the way.
Cedarville finished first overall with 18 points with all of their top-seven racers finishing in the top-10. Lee (Tenn.) finished as the runner-up while Nova Southeastern rounded out the top three.Â
The hosts Alabama-Huntsville finished in fourth with Anderson (S.C.) rounding out the top-five. The Knights finished in eighth with 207 points and the top-seven scoring in the top-90 individually.
Emersyn Weaver led Marian finishing in 33rd with a time of 22:31.7.
Claire Milam was not far behind finishing in 36th with a 22:34.7.
Kaelina Matthews rounded out the top-three Knights finishing in 44th with a time of 22:43.5.Â
Summer Rempe finished in 63rd with a time of 23:01.3.
Vivienne Siefker and
Gracynn Hinkley finished within a second of each other with Siefker finishing in 73rd (23:13.8) and Hinkley finishing in 75th (23:14.5). Josie Fledman was the final Knight in the top-seven scored with a 86th place finish with a time of 23:30.9.
Marian had three more runners competing in Alabama, Saturday morning, With
Lindsay Huston finishing in 88th,
Elaina Herman finishing in 90th, and
Lainey Roth finishing in 98th.Â
The Knights will be back in action Saturday, October 25th as they travel up to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College.
