The Cougars struck first with a batter crossing home plate after a walk with bases loaded in the bottom of the first as well as a run scored off of a wild pitch to take the 2-0 lead after the bottom of the second.

Saint Francis continued to push at the lead in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI off of a single to extend the lead 3-0. The Knights pushed at the Cougars lead with a reach on first from an error by the shortstop to allow Callan Gick to cross home plate to bring the score 3-1 in favor of the Cougars. After a duo of clean innings the Cougars struck again with three straight base hits to extend their lead 6-1. The Knights struck again with a sacrifice fly into left field by Roeder to allow Gick to score. After another pair of scoreless innings for each team Saint Francis extended their lead off of a single but Marian was able to end the game with a run from Deacon Spencer crossing the plate after Cole McManus advanced with a hit by pitch.
