Adrian, Mich. - For the first time since joining the WHAC Conference, Marian women's lacrosse team was named the WHAC Regular Season Co-Champions after their 9-3 win over Siena Heights. The Knight move to 10-4 overall on the season, ending the regular season in a three-way tie for first place in the WHAC with their 6-1 record.
Siena Heights struck first in the fist quarter with a pair of free position goals and a man-up goal with 7:37 left in the quarter.
Delaney Koles passed the ball off to
Ruby Mason to allow the Knights to get on the board with Mason's goal and end the quarter trailing 1-3.
Marian opened up the second quarter with five shots but weren't successful until
Lizzie Piercy gave the assist to Mason to score yet another goal and bring the game within one goal. The Knights once more tacked on the only shots recording three before
Rylie Boezeman was successful bringing the game to a 3-3 tie going into the half.
Mason and Piercy opened up the third quarter with another beautiful pass from Piercy to allow Mason to record a hat-trick and take the Knights first lead of the day. Mason was once more able to close out the quarter with a goal off of a pass from
Ella Grace Giedd to increase the lead 5-3.
Alex Dean was able to open up the quarter with a goal off of a pass by Giedd to extend the lead to three. Piercy was the next to strike getting a goal of her own unassisted with 8:15 left to play. Mason attacked once more earning her fifth goal of the day with the assist of Giedd.
Jada Taylor was able to close out the game with an unassisted goal with 52 seconds remaining and secure the 9-3 win for the Knights.
Ruby Mason led the Knights with five goals off of her 10 shots with eight being on target. Mason also recorded five ground balls and two draw controls.

Ella Grace Giedd led the team in assists with three and ground balls with six.
Anna Moore led te team in draw controls with three while
Olivia Dean led the team in caused turnovers with four. In goal
Katherine Hirsch recorded another win playing all 60 minutes only giving up three goals with nine saves on the day.Â
Marian earned the two seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament following the results of the tiebreaker determined by the commissioner's office, and the Knights will host the semifinal round on Thursday, April 17 against either Indiana Tech or Madonna.
