Marian Men's Golf Wins Third Consecutive Crossroads League Championship

INDIANAPOLIS - For the third consecutive year, the Marian men's golf team has captured the Crossroads League Championship, as the Knights won the yearly tournament in commanding style on Tuesday afternoon. Marian shot even-par for the tournament, and had two members of the All-Tournament Team, with Weston Ogden and Luke Beetz each cracking the top-five.

After building an 11-stroke lead on Monday through 36 holes, the Knights continued to attack the course in Tuesday's third round, collecting 12 birdies and one eagle on the front nine as a team. Over the back nine, Marian fired in six birdies against seven bogies, ending their day two-under par overall with a 286 team score. Marian's 286 on Tuesday gave the team an 864 total for the week. The Knights' championship came at a 23-stroke victory over Indiana Wesleyan, who finished second overall. Spring Arbor finished third for the tournament, while Grace and Taylor completed the top-five.

Weston Ogden shot up the leader board on Tuesday, moving from seventh to third on the day as the junior capped the championship with a 215 total. Ogden shot a tournament-best 68 in round three, hitting six birdie putts on the day, as he earned All-Tournament Team honors.

Luke Beetz also moved on the board on Tuesday, jumping from ninth to fifth overall. Beetz carded a 71 in the final round, ending his week with a 219 total. Brandon Heffner tied teammate Lane Zedrick for sixth overall, as each Knight shot a 220 total. Heffner scored a 73 on the final day of the Crossroads League Championship, while Zedrick battled a difficult back-nine and scored a 78. Nolan Potter completed Marian's efforts, as he ended the week in a three-way tie for ninth with a 222 total. Potter shot a 74 in the final round on Tuesday, capping the CL Championship in ninth.

Marian was the only team in the tournament to shoot under-par as a team in any of the three rounds, doing so twice in rounds one and two.

Marian has earned an automatic bid to the 2025 NAIA National Championship, which takes place May 20-23 in Silvis, Illinois. The championship field for TPC Deere Run will be announced this Friday, and tee times will be scheduled on Monday, May 12.
