Box Score Columbia, Ky. - The Marian Men's Soccer team fell 3-1 to No. 7 Lindsey Wilson friday evening. The Knights are now 5-1-2 on the season.

The Knights opened up the first half with a shot from Joao Antonio Rocha on target but was saved by the Blue Raiders goalie. Lindsey Wilson quickly fired back with six shots. Samuel Wehaus and Rafael Zambrano each fired back with a pair of shots on target but the Blue Raiders quickly countered with five more shots. Gustavo Nunes benefited off of a penalty kick and struck first taking the 1-0 lead over Lindsey Wilson. Each team recorded two more shots with Wehaus and Josh Wesseling recording the shots for the Knights before the Blue Raiders leveled the field with a goal in the 37th minute. Lindsey Wilson attempted to take the late lead before halftime with two more shots but came up short making the score 1-1 at the end of the first half.

The Blue Raiders came out of halftime hot with three shots before taking the 2-1 lead over the Knights in the 51st minute of the match. The Knights attempted to level the game with a pair of shots on goal from Antonio Pratas and Gustavo Nunes but were quickly followed up with a pair of shots from their opponents. Oliver Calculli attempted to fire back with a shot but was saved by the Blue Raiders goalie. Lindsey Wilson struck once more with a goal increasing their lead to two with four minutes remaining. The Blue Raiders attempted to strike again but Mateo Garcia-Galan was able to save the shot ending the game with a 3-1 win for Lindsey Wilson. 

Gustavo Nunes led the team with one goal and two shots in the match while Samuel Wehaus also recorded two shots. Josh Wesseling, Joao Antonio Rocha, Rafael Zambrano, Antonio Pratas, and Oliver Calculli each recorded one shot throughout the game. In goal Mateo Garcia-Galan recorded the loss and seven saves throughout the match.

The Knights close out their pre-conference slate as they take on Shawnee State University at home on Wednesday, September 17th at 7 pm at Ascension St. Vincent Field.
