Anthony Rinehart's Runner-Up Finish Highlights Wrestling's Succes at Missouri Valley Invite

Marshall, Mo. - The Marian wrestling team completed one of the team's best performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, capping a sixth-place finish at the annual Missouri Valley Invite. The Knights had four undefeated wrestlers on the first day of competition on Friday, with Anthony Rinehart recording the program's best individual performance, finishing as the runner-up at 174.

Marian had a strong outing overall for the tournament, having five wrestlers finish sixth or better in the event. Grand View won the tournament with 132.5 points, with Missouri Valley, Concordia, and Southeastern making up the top-four spots in the finishing order. Indiana Tech edged out the Knights by one point overall in the final standings, with the team's WHAC rivals finishing in fifth with a final of 109 points, while Marian had 108 as its team total. 

Anthony Rinehart was the lone Knight to reach the championship, finishing as the runner-up in his weight class of 174. Anthony Hughes, Jeff Dunasky Jr., and Logan Wagner each reached the semifinals with perfect records on Friday, with Wagner and Hughes each finishing as the third-place finisher in their respective weight classes. Dunasky finished sixth in his bracket, and Landon Bertsch clawed his way back in the consolation rounds to a sixth place finish at 133.
