Indianapolis —- Marian University football redshirt junior Cade Houseman and freshman Hudson Moritz were named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

Houseman earns the honor for the second time this season and for the fifth time in his career. The Springfield, Ohio native recorded five tackles, three of which came for a loss, and a pass breakup in 8th-ranked Marian's 31-3 win over 16th-ranked Olivet Nazarene, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season.

The Knights held ONU to over 40 points under its previous scoring average, while holding the Tigers to just nine yards rushing.

Moritz made two tackles on special teams along with a fumble recovery on an Olivet Nazarene muffed punt. The true freshman out of Indianapolis has logged snaps in each of Marian's seven games to this point in the season.

The Knights return to the road for the first time in five weeks on Saturday , traveling to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for a 1 p.m. kickoff in MSFA Midwest action.
