WINONA LAKE, IND. - The Marian women's soccer team finished with a 0-0 draw on the road against Grace on Saturday afternoon. The Knights moved to 9-0-2 overall this season and 3-0-1 in the Crossroads League.
After a period of silence, Grace opened the match with a pair of shots just shy of goal in the 12th and 14th minutes.
Allie Tredway took a chance in the 23rd minute, but her shot went just over the target. The Lancers struck again with a shot, but Marian countered with three.
Sienna Mullen fired a shot high, while
Elizabeth Lantrip and
Kaitlyn Lavezzi each fired a shot off the posts. Grace fired the final shot of the half, but it came up short against
Lily Ames' defense in goal, keeping the score 0-0 at the half.
Olivia Parmer was the first to strike in the second half but came up short to the Lancers' goalie. After 13 minutes of a dry spell for both sides, Grace fired off a trio of shots, but all came up short, and one was saved by Ames.
Sammie King was able to record her first shot of the game on target, but Grace's goalie was able to save the strike. Parmer got on the stat sheet once more with a shot but came up short to the goalie once more. Grace made the final strike with a shot left, ending the match with a 0-0 tie.Â
Olivia Parmer led the way, recording a pair of shots on target while
Sammie King recorded the only other shot on goal.
Lily Ames played all 90 minutes in goal, tallying a pair of saves in the process.Â
Marian will be back in action next Saturday as they take on No. 10 Taylor at 7 PM.Â
