NEW ORLEANS — On Tuesday afternoon, the USTFCCCA announced its national winners for coach, assistant coach, track, and field athletes of the NAIA Indoor season. Marian headlined the honors, as head coach
Katie Wise-Butler was named the men's and women's NAIA Head Coach of the Year,
Presley Martin was named as the men's and women's Assistant Coach of the Year, and
Katie Woods and
Tristan Trevino were tabbed as the respective NAIA Track Athletes of the Year.
Tristan Trevino - Men's Track Athlete of the Year
Trevino, who hails from Phoenix, Arizona, was named the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. He led Marian (Ind.) to the national title in Gainesville, Florida, winning the mile and anchoring the winning 4×800 and distance medley relays. Trevino opened the meet with a 1:49.98 anchor leg in the 4×800, extending the Knights' lead from 0.35 seconds to nearly four at the finish line and helping set an NAIA record. On the final day, Trevino won the mile in the seventh-fastest time in NAIA history on a record-legal track before anchoring Marian (Ind.) to victory in the DMR. During the regular season, Trevino captured the 800-meter title at the Crossroads League Indoor Championships.
Katie Woods - Women's Track Athlete of the Year
Woods, who hails from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was named the 2026 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. She starred at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida, scoring 20.5 points to lead Marian (Ind.) to the team title. Woods won the 1000 meters, finished runner-up in the mile, and anchored the victorious distance medley relay. Her time of 2:47.68 in the 1000 vaulted her to No. 7 in NAIA history. During the regular season, Woods also helped the Knights capture the team title at the Crossroads League Championships, winning the mile and running a leg on the victorious 4×800 relay.
Katie Wise-Butler - Men's Head Coach of the Year
Wise-Butler was named the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year. She led Marian (Ind.) to the team title at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida. The Knights amassed 66 points in the Sunshine State, winning four event titles – including a clean sweep of the relays – and scoring in five others. Marian (Ind.)'s 7:27.72 in the 4×800 relay set an NAIA record. During the regular season, the Knights also dominated the Crossroads League Indoor Championships, scoring 236 points in a 81-point victory.
Wise-Butler was named the 2026 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year. She led Marian (Ind.) to the team title at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida. The Knights amassed 51 points in the Sunshine State, posting two event wins and scoring in six others, which included a 1-2 finish in the 1000 meters. Marian (Ind.) ended the regular season with athletes ranked among the top-five nationally in ten events. The Knights tuned up for the NAIA Championships with an emphatic win at the Crossroads League Championships, where they tallied 244 points in a 106-point victory.
Presley Martin - Men's & Women's Assistant Coach of the Year
Martin was named the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Assistant Coach of the Year. His athletes played a pivotal role in Marian (Ind.) winning the team title at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida, scoring 36 of the team's 66 points. The Knights won the mile, swept the 4×800 and distance medley relays – the former in an NAIA record – and placed third in the 800 meters. Four of his event groups ranked among the top five nationally in the #EventSquad Rankings: 800 meters (No. 1), mile (No. 2), 3000 meters (No. 3), and 1000 meters (No. 4).

His athletes played a pivotal role in Marian (Ind.) winning the team title at the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida, scoring 36 of the team's 51 points. The Knights went 1-2 in the 1000 meters, won the distance medley relay, and finished second in the mile. Three of his event groups ranked among the top five nationally in the #EventSquad Rankings: 1000 meters (No. 1), 800 meters (No. 2), and mile (No. 2).
Marian begins outdoor season next weekend, looking to bring home two more championships through outdoor season.
