INDIANAPOLIS - With over two decades of coaching experience and success across high school, club, and collegiate platforms, the Marian women's soccer program is excited to welcome Jonathan McClure to Marian University as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. McClure will serve as the Knights' goalkeeping coach and developmental team head coach.
With stints at Guerin Catholic High School and Pendleton Heights High School, McClure is no stranger to success. Coach McClure led the Golden Eagles to five IHSAA sectional and four regional titles and has two state finals appearances to his name. In his two seasons at Pendleton Heights, the girls' soccer program finished runner-up in the Hoosier Heritage Conference in 2023 and 2024, the program's best finish since 2017. He is a five-time Indiana Soccer Coaches Association District 3 Private School Coach of the Year. The ISCA named him as the 'Above and Beyond' award recipient in 2016.
Coach McClure also has extensive experience leading coaching staffs at various Indianapolis area soccer clubs. He was named Girls' Director of Coaching for Westfield Youth Soccer Association and maintained this role as it transitioned into becoming Indiana Fire Juniors, the first soccer tenet of Grand Park. Coach McClure would then take a leadership role with Zionsville Youth Soccer Association, serving as their Girls' Director of Coaching. Through his near seven years with ZYSA, he played major role in strengthening the bench of directors and coaches, saw a 40% growth in player participation, and partnered with Ball State University's Sport Psychology Department to create and implement an age-specific competitive development model centered around character growth and mental training. After departing ZYSA, Jonathan joined Indy Premier, where he currently coaches in the senior girls age groups.
Coach McClure is a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington where he earned a Bachelor of Science: Education degree and Boston University where he earned his Master's in Art Education. He holds the NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, the NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 2 Diploma, USSF National C License, and RMA 200 certification. He is a United Soccer Coaches member and has previous college coaching experience at both Anderson University and Marian University, both in a part-time capacity. He currently resides in Pendleton, Indiana with his wife and children.
