Indianapolis, Ind. - The Marian men's tennis team took a 6-1 win over Bethel, improving their record to 10-8 overall on the year and 4-2 in the Crossroads League.
Bethel got in the lead in doubles action, taking the 6-3 win over
Iyan Cresens and
Marc Soriano.
Mateo Guerin and Juan Garcia-Tunon fought back with a 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. With it all tied up 1-1,
James Ashworth and
Marcos Ramos Cabrera took the 7-6 and 7-1 win at No. 1 singles and took the doubles point.
Soriano extended the lead with a 6-4 and 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, followed by Ramos Cabrera with the 6-2 and 7-5 win at No. 4 singles. Bethel was able to earn a point with their 4-6, 6-2, and 7-6(3) wins at No. 3 singles. Ashworth fired back with a pair 6-4 wins at No. 1 singles.
Jan Bartolome followed up with a 6-1 and 6-3 win at No. 6 while Juan Garcia-Tunon wrapped the day with a 6-3, 3-6, and 1-0(7) win at No. 5 singles.
Marian will be back in action on Friday, April 3rd at 12 PM as they host (RV) Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho).
