CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings for Divisions II, III, and the NAIA were released on Tuesday afternoon, releasing the top teams in overall national standing through the winter sports season. Marian University gained ground after their three championships in the winter season, moving from fourth to third as the spring sports begin to hit stride.
The final winter standings for
Division II and
Division III will be updated after the Division II and Division III Men's Basketball Championships on April 5. Division II and Division III includes all the men's basketball point totals except for the championships.
In the winter season, Marian scored 457.5 points, ranking second among all NAIA programs in the winter sports season. Marian's NAIA championships in men's and women's indoor track and field and women's basketball racked up 300 points, while the men's bowling team scored 90 with its NAIA runner-up. The wrestling program scored 67.5 points, bringing Marian to their winter total.
The Knights only trailed the University of the Cumberlands in overall points in the winter, as the Patriots scored 605.5 this winter to take the overall NAIA lead with 990.5 points. Indiana Wesleyan fell from first to second in the Learfield standings after the winter season, after scoring 426 points in the latest championship season. The Wildcats lead Marian by an 851.0-754.0 total.
Marian has scored points this year from both cross country and indoor track and field teams, the women's volleyball, basketball, and soccer programs, and the men's wrestling, bowling, and football teams.
Behind the Patriots, Wildcats and Knights in the top-five standings are Lindsey Wilson (658.5) and Life (563.25).
The Mid-South (Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson) and Crossroads League (Indiana Wesleyan and Marian) are the only two conferences to have more than one institution in the top 10 of the rankings.
The 2025-26 Division I Learfield Directors' Cup standings will be published next week and at the end of April. The spring standings will begin distribution on
Tuesday, June 9.
