GREENWOOD, Ind. - The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams were released on Tuesday, selected by College Sports Communicators, and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The Marian softball team earned the maximum of five players named to the 2026 team, seeing
Abbey Hofmann,
Abby Madere,
Macy Coan,
Lily Wendt, and
Ally Malone each earn the honor.
To be named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or better, and participate in at least 90% of team games played as a position player, or have started at least 66% of the total number of team games played. For pitchers, players must pitch 35-plus innings or appear in 17 games as a pitcher.
Marian was one of six schools in the Crossroads League to earn the 2026 honor, with the Knights joining Goshen, Grace, and Indiana Wesleyan as members with a maximum of five honorees. Taylor earned four honors, and Mount Vernon Nazarene earned three honors.
The Knights had two members of the program earn CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in their careers, while
Abby Madere,
Macy Coan, and
Ally Malone each earned their first career honor. All five of Marian's honorees were named as 2026 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Abbey Hofmann led the Knights in batting as a junior, hitting .389 as she was named to the Crossroads League First Team, Tournament Team, and Gold Glove Teams. Hofmann had 79 base hits in a career-high 203 at-bats, and scored a team-best 63 runs as the team's lead-off batter. Hofmann started all 56 games in centerfield and logged 16 doubles, six triples, and four home runs on the year.
Abby Madere earns the honor for the first time as she finished her career with a .387 batting average as a senior. Madere earned All-Crossroads League First Team honors, and was recently named to the NFCA Region VI First Team. The senior led the team in doubles with 18, finishing her career tied for the program record with 66, and also put up a team-high 61 RBI.
Macy Coan enjoyed a career year as a junior, earning All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors as she competed as the team's top pitching option. Coan finished the season with a 21-6 overall record, carrying an ERA of 2.49 in 29 appearances. The junior pitcher finished the year with 104 strikeouts and highlighted her season with her success in the NAIA Opening Round, going 4-0 in the circle in a week where she pitched 32.0 innings with one run allowed.
Lily Wendt earned her second honor on the CSC Academic District Team as a senior, finishing her career as the every-game starter at first base. Wendt started all 56 games at first base and batted .310 in her senior season, carrying a near-perfect glove at first base with a .995 fielding percentage.
Ally Malone batted .301 as a sophomore, finishing her second season as the team's starting shortstop. Malone doubled eight times and tripled twice, while adding one home run in her sophomore campaign. Malone made 196 total outs from her shortstop position in the field.

Abbey Hofmann will all move forward on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The 2026 Academic All-America honors will be announced on Tuesday, June 16. The three Knights lead the Crossroads League, as they have three of the total six potential All-America recipients from the league.
Marian finished their season with a 38-18 overall record, competing in the NAIA World Series after winning the NAIA Opening Round Hattiesburg Bracket.
