Indianapolis — The Marian University volleyball team took the opening two sets against 23rd-ranked Grace on Wednesday night, but ultimately fell in five sets in Crossroads League action at the P.E. Center.
TEAM STATISTICS

- Autumn Wohler led MU with 13 digs; Lexa Zimmerman and Mya Cunningham had 12 and 11 digs, respectively
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST SET
- Two kills from Dryden in a three-point Marian run forced a Grace timeout at 17-14
- The Lancers cut the deficit to two, but another string of three straight from the Knights pushed their advantage to 21-16
- Dryden and Cook kills helped push MU to an opening set win
SECOND SET
- With Marian trailing 15-13, the Knights took six of seven points with three of the points coming via Dryden kills
- Two consecutive Dryden kills forced Grace to call a timeout
- The Lancers got within 21-20, but Dryden's kill put the Knights ahead two sets
THIRD SET
- Grace took 7-3 and 10-4 leads early in the third set
- A string of five straight Knight points got MU within one; Grace's error tied the set at 14
- The Lancers responded with five unanswered points to regain a lead
- Grace landed an ace to cap the third set
FOURTH SET
- Grace led 17-12 midway through the fourth, later pushing their advantage to 22-14
- An attack error from the Knights sent the match to a decisive fifth set
FIFTH SET
- Grace took the first two points of the fifth set, but Marian responded with a three-point run started by kills from Cook and Turner
- The Knights led 9-7 before Grace won six of seven points to lead 13-10
- MU cut the deficit to a single point, but Grace scored the match's final two points to pull off the comeback
