Indianapolis — Marian University sophomore Ashton Vogel was named the Mid-State Football Association Midwest League Special Teams Player of the Week, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
 
The Indianapolis native made two field goals in 11th-ranked Marian's 27-25 win over Madonna on Saturday, including the game-winning 35-yard field goal as time expired in the Knights' win.
 
Vogel bounced back from two missed field goal attempts, going a perfect 3-for-3 on extra point attempts and two made field goals. He also recorded four touchbacks on kickoffs.
 
Marian enjoys an off week this week before returning to action at Ascension St. Vincent Field on Saturday, Oct. 3, hosting Taylor University at 1:05 p.m.
