Jordan Nelson joins Marian University as the pitching coach for the 2025-26 season.
Nelson, originally from Iowa City, IA, takes over the pitching staff after spending the 2025 summer in the Northwoods Summer Collegiate League as the pitching coach for the Kenosha Kingfish.
Nelson is a graduate of the University of Dubuque, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Human Health Science along with a Master Degree in Management. As a five-year member of the baseball team, Nelson received all conference honors following the 2019 baseball season as a right-handed pitcher. Nelson spent four years playing in the Northwoods League with the Waterloo Bucks (’18, ’20, ’21) and the Rockford Rivets (’19, ’20) before signing a professional contract with the Gary Southshore Railcats in 2021. Nelson continued his playing career with the Boise Hawks of the Pioneer League in 2022, the Great Fall Voyagers in 2023, and was released following spring training with the Missoula Paddleheads in 2024.
Nelson and his wife Faith recently tied the knot in May of 2025, and currently live in Indianapolis with their labradoodle named Millie.
