BIO

  • Brock Caraboa is entering his fourth season as defensive coordinator. Known for his aggressive style, Caraboa's intensity has helped guide the MU defense to numerous accolades and is one of the strongest units in the nation.
  • In 2018, Caraboa earned the MSFA Mideast League Assistant Coach of the Year award - the first of his career. He was also named a finalist for the footballscoop.com Coordinator of the Year for the second time in his career.
  • Caraboa's defense was ferocious in 2018, finishing first in the nation in scoring defense, second in total defense and rushing defense and fourth in passing defense. Marian racked up three shutouts during the season.
  • Caraboa guided the Knights to the No. 1 defense in the country in 2016. Marian ranked first in the nation in sacks, defense points per game, rushing defense, third down defense, sacks per game, touchdowns allowed, yards per play, takeaway margin, yards per carry and ranked fifth in pass defense efficiency.
  • For his efforts, Caraboa was a finalist for the footballscoop.com Coordinator of the Year in 2016.
  • Guided a pair of defensive linemen, Jamar Wilhite and Donnie Dulaney, to All-MSFA Mideast League honors in his first season. 
  • In 2014, the defensive line accounted for 16.5 of 39 sacks and 36.5 of 103 tackles for loss. In the NAIA, the MU defense ranked second in rushing defense, fourth in total sacks, 11th in pass defense efficiency, 14th in total defense and 16th in scoring defense.
  • Prior to his first year as an assistant, Caraboa helped lead the defensive line (2013) and linebackers (2012) as a graduate assistant. His assistance was instrumental in the run to the national title in 2012 with the linebackers being a key cog in MU's success.
  • As a four-year letter winner at Marian University, Caraboa was one of the top linebackers in school history from the inception of the program in 2007 until his final season in 2010. He currently holds the career record for tackles and the single-season mark in the same category. He earned Victory Sports Network NAIA All-America honors in 2010 and earned NAIA Football Championship Series Defensive Player of the Game honors in the Knights' first-ever NAIA FCS appearance in 2010. He was also a three-time All-MSFA Mideast League performer who earned first team honors during his senior season.
  • He earned a bachelor's degree in 2011 from Marian University and earned a master's degree from Ball State University in 2014.
