2025: In his second season as a starter, Downey had a strong fourth year as a Knight, making MSFA Midwest League Second-Team for the second consecutive season ... Started all 12 games at safety alongside Logan Carrington ... Recorded 68 total tackles, and was the third-leading tackler on the team ... Of his 68 tackles, 28 were solo and 40 were assisted, recording two total tackles for loss and one sack ... Forced one fumble and intercepted one pass ... Had three pass breakups ... Made a season-best 12 tackles against St. Francis (Ill.) ... Made lone interception of the season at Madonna ... Logged a sack in a three-tackle game against Defiance ... Began the season with seven total tackles in  the season opener against Siena Heights, making a tackle for loss while forcing and recovering a fumble ... Made seven tackles the following week against Concordia ... Logged a season-high nine tackles against Lawrence Tech, recording a game-sealing interception with a 26 yard return ... Earned MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week honors after making eight tackles and recording a sack, while also making a 41-yard interception against Taylor ... 2023: Converted from a receiver to a safety in spring ball, and led to success on the field appearing in all 11 games as a second-year Knight ... Saw action on special teams and played a role in different packages on defense ... Finished the season tied for ninth on the team in total tackles with 26 total stops ... Made 12 solo stops and 14 assisted tackles ... Made one tackle for loss and one sack, with his first career sack coming against Madonna ... Made a five total tackles against Olivet Nazarene ... Posted a season-high eight total tackles against Taylor with five assisted tackles in the game ... Made three tackles at Indiana Wesleyan ...
