BIO

• In his second season as a Knight, Diego Gutierrez climbs to the top assistant role on the Knights bench. 
• Gutierrez joined the Knights staff in 2021 under former head coach Ashlee Pritchard, and helped on the Marian defensive gameplan with the attack in the net.
• Helped increase Marian's blocks per set and helped lead the Knights to their NAIA National Semifinal appearance in year one.
• Prior to Marian, Gutierrez worked with the Carmel High School girls team as a varsity through freshman team assistant.
• At Carmel helped develop the game strategy for the varsity, and often led the freshman squad in games and practices. 
• A graduate of Anderson University, Gutierrez helped as a student coach from 2013-2016, and later served as a graduate assistant at AU. 
• Helped lead the initiative of starting a JV squad at Anderson, and helped in recruiting efforts of on campus visits with the coaching staff.
