Bowerman is entering his first year as the Knights head coach for the 2025 season.

On May 30, Marian University Director of Athletics Steve Downing officially announced the hiring of Ryan Bowerman as the next head coach of Marian women's volleyball. Bowerman, an Indiana native returning to his home state, is the sixth head coach in program history.

No stranger to the game of volleyball, Ryan Bowerman is joining Marian as the program's sixth head coach following his second run as the assistant coach at Xavier University in Louisiana. In his most recent stint with Xavier, Bowerman served as the associate head coach, coaching 10 Red-River Athletic Conference selections, including two players of the year, two freshmen of the year, and two AVCA All-Americans. Experienced in the NAIA women's volleyball world, Bowerman helped lead the Gold to the RRAC Conference Championship in 2023.

A native of Indiana and high school graduate of North Montgomery High School, Ryan Bowerman attended Wabash College, where he graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a minor in Spanish, concentrating in education. Bowerman then went on to complete his Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in global studies from IU-Kokomo. While at Wabash, Bowerman began his coaching career as the student president of the Wabash College volleyball club team, serving in that role for all four years. Bowerman also coached five seasons as a varsity assistant at North Montgomery.
