INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's soccer developmental team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bethel on Monday afternoon, losing their home finale for the 2022 season.

The Knights scored the first goal of the game with 20 minutes remaining in the first half, as Adam Andres drove home a goal from the top of the box after Marian was awarded a free kick. Marian's lead was held in check until the final second of the half, as Bethel was able to drive in a goal from over 30 yards out into the upper pocket of the net over the outstretched arms of Spencer McCumber.

In the second half the Pilots controlled possession, limiting Marian to minimal shot attempts while they hounded the net. Alvaro Ruedo made multiple saves in net, but was unable to preserve the draw as he was beat with a goal in the 82nd minute. Marian was unable to counter, and ended the game falling 2-1. 

Marian will finish their season next Monday at St. Francis.
