KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athletes earlier this month. Hastings (Neb.) leads the way with 15 honorees. Grand View (Iowa) and Tabor (Kan.) finished close behind with 12 honorees respectively.
Marian women's basketball earned seven NAIA Daktronic Scholar-Athlete honors, with
Alexa McKinley,
Aliyah Evans,
Allison Bosse,
Ella Collier,
Esther Sevilla,
Jayla Wehner, and
Majestic Sales earning the honor. This is the second time Evans, Bosse, and Wehner have earned the honor in their career, while McKinley, Collier, Sevilla, and Sales each earned their first.

The 2023 list features 873 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
