KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday. Concordia (Neb.) had the highest number of honorees with 37 and was followed by Dordt (Iowa) with 32 honorees of its own.
Marian women's track and field earned four NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honors, with Ali Ray, Erin Oleksak, Giorgia Mameli, and Luci Woodrum earning the honor. This is the third time Oleksak has earned the the honor in her career, while Ray has twice, and Mameli and Woodrum earned their first.
The 2023 list features 1076 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. To be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
