Jackson, Mich. - The Marian women's track and field team swept the opening Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as sophomores
Delaney Teachnor and
Emma Edwards claimed the honor. Teachnor's honor as Field Athlete of the Week is the third in her career, while Edwards' Track Athlete of the Week award is the first in her Marian career.
Delaney Teachnor hit an A standard in pole vault for the second consecutive week, clearing 3.65m at Indiana Tech to take the win in the event. The sophomore's mark of 3.80m from the previous week is the No. 2 height in the NAIA this season.Â
Emma Edwards set Marian's school record in the 400m as she finished fifth in the event with a 57.39 second time at the IU Early Bird Meet. Edwards hit a B standard with her school record time, and later clocked a 26.29 effort in the 200m.
Marian returns to competition on January 16 when they return from winter break.
